Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community. Whether you’re a developer, student learning to code, event host, or the company of any size, you can help drive the growth of open source and make positive contributions to an ever-growing community. All backgrounds and skills levels are encouraged to complete the challenge.

Hacktoberfest® encourages more participation in the open-source community, which grows bigger every year. Complete the 2019 challenge and earn a limited-edition T-shirt.

Hacktoberfest NIT Rourkela

Developer Student Clubs-NIT Rourkela and OpenCode have collaborated together to organize a Hacktoberfest meetup to encourage developers new to opensource to contribute efficiently. We would be guiding and mentoring all registered participants if they require help throughout the month of October.

A meetup would be organized on 20th October to bring together all opensource enthusiasts in NIT Rourkela.

We have a collection of GitHub repo specially curated for Hacktoberfest and maintained by us. All these projects are for production and would go live after the participants contribute.

What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean and DEV.

Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community!

Four quality pull requests must be submitted to public GitHub repositories.

You can sign up anytime between October 1 and October 31.

How do I get started?

Register at https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/ Submit a PR to any public GitHub repository. Quality contributions are encouraged! You can look for open issues labeled “Hacktoberfest” for inspiration.

I completed 4 PRs. When will I receive my t-shirt?

We will start sending out emails with more details on redeeming t-shirts throughout the month. Stay tuned! If you don't receive communication by the first 2-3 days of November, please let us know.



How do I get stickers ?

Stickers are included with your t-shirt, once you complete 4 PRs.
